Are you in the right place?

Ask this question to yourself.  Am I in the right place with right people?  We sometimes don’t ask questions to find out what goes on in our mind.  How it feels.  What it says. What it thinks. I find it the best way to find out what we feel, deep within, about what is happening.  You will notice… your mind responding with prompt answers like you press “Enter” and there you get feed back. Remember, it comes from your subconscience. Because it was trying to tell you many times, but you never listened to it. To your own mind.

Are you with the right people?

Now, the reason  I am asking you this question is… we are sincere, honest, hard working and still find ourselves in a not-so-happy state of mind.  This is true specially when you are giving your best,  but the system fails you. The system you are working in, with people around you,  like your boss, superiors and colleagues are just not working in harmony with one single goal…. which is… company interest at heart as the primary objective. For few others, personal gains, personal interests are more important than company profits. This includes your immediate boss and your top management also.  This is happening as a matter of fact in small, medium and large size organisations where this is a common work culture. Making staff sick, frustrated and unhappy.  The reasons? The boss is hardly aware of what is happening under his or her nose. Their “Chamchas” keep feeding these inefficient bosses with wrong fillers. These useless, inefficient bosses, superiors, managers, dept heads keep lending their ears to such dishonest, disloyal, insincere staff.  The complete office sometimes works on psychophancy as the main competitive merit to which incompetent bosses are the root cause. And the result?  An honest, sincere worker like YOU becomes a victim.  Who is only interested in doing best for the company to the best of ability, keeping company interest at heart and company profitability, supreme.

You are in the wrong place with wrong people.

YES! whatever you say and do, nothing will work because nothing is going to change the system in which you happen to be a part. It is the most unhealthy work culture  from top to bottom. Who will you change? Your BOSS? who has created it because it works well for him. Your fellow workers?  who’s very survival depends on such a unhealthy system. Who will you change?  The system?  The people?  Or Change yourself ?

The system fails people many times.

It is true, that our systems, our work culture, attitudes,  fail sincere and honest minds.  And this is a sad part of our society at large from where this unhealthy practices in the offices come into play.  Of course, having said this, there are exceptions also where top management place high value systems on human resources working with the company and treat every staff, no matter what position, like a value addition for a company growth and profitability. Yes, the gradual change is seen as we see new management visionaries  understanding human values and human assets to make companies stand tall for earning goodwill of the society. But for many, it is still a mental torture and agony working with companies who operate unprofessionally. Unfortunately, if you are one among them… Don’t blame yourself.  You are only a victim of the circumstances. You are used, misused and abused… is what a terrible feeling you develop by the end of it.  YOU need to make the right move at the right time to make your life better, happier and tension free.

What do I do?  Do I have a choice?  Can I change the circumstances I am in ?

Our life is full of choices. Be optimistic and positive. First thing first. You must know and understand it well that if anyone has hired YOU for a job,  YOU must have something in you to contribute for the company you are working. You are ambitious, sincere, hard working and honest.  Above all these values, you know your job well. So you must feel good about yourself first. Never let  low esteem about yourself creep in you. Always think highly about yourself as a person and a professional. Learn to say this proudly and loudly that YOU are a professional and nothing less. But with humility. Do not show your arrogance. Show the pride you take in your own abilities.

Start thinking about options you have?  Other choices  you can think of ?

Again, go back to ask this question to yourself, what are my strengths and weaknesses?  Write them down on a paper in two columns. On one side, your strengths,  and on the other, your weaknesses. You must be overtly concerned about your professional and personal weaknesses.  And you must be honest about accepting them in a good spirit with a forward thinking attitude to work on each one of them. If they are hurdles to your personal progress and growth, learning to improve your skills ought to be your first priority and must be a continuous process. Remember, It helps to make us more educated, enlightened and empowered. So, work on your personal and professional skills to upgrade and the opportunities you will see in this world will change your life.

So my message to you is… if you are in the wrong place with wrong people,  ACT fast to change conditions. The conditions to be in your comfort zone, which are more sensitive to your feelings, more conducive for your growth,  and FUTURE.

Remember… Good times and bad times are part of  life.  Everything changes if we in our efforts TRY to. No one will change anything for you. YOU have to make efforts to change things for YOU.  So take control of your life. Make your own roads of success.
